Origin- During the industrial chemist revolution, chemists where experimenting with different chemicals to make different colored dyes. In 1856 Magenta was created during one of these experiments to make synthetic dyes.
After the discovery Magenta caught on quick becoming a very popular color in the late 1800s.
Because of the high contrast to the color green, many flowers have evolved over time and have a Magenta color to catch the eye of insets and animals to pollinate.
Magenta is a primary color in its own color wheel with Cyan, and Yellow. Because of this, since the late 19th Century Magenta has been a primary color for printing ink.
